SYLLABUS FOR  7TH GRADE ELA

Grading Policy

50% of grade is based on Daily Work ( Vocabulary Activity, Writing and Reading Skills)

40% of grade is based on Major Tests/Projects (Weekly Vocabulary and Reading Quiz, Writing Process)

10% of grade is based on Homework (Reading Log)

5 days allowed for late work

 

Homework

Students self-select a book, read for 20 minutes, 5 times per week, (outside of ELA class).  Students may read in tutorial class if all other work is complete. Students will maintain a reading log with title, author, date, number of minutes and pages read. A reading response will be recorded on notebook paper in the reading folder. Students select their choice of response from the Independent Reading Cafe menu. The reading log will be due every Monday.
